Arrive 15 minutes before your session time. – Due to the nature of portrait sessions, any time you are late will cut in to your session time and result in less images received. Be sure to arrive 15 minutes before your session to ensure everyone is 100% dressed and ready by the start of your session start time.
Do not spray tan. These tans always photograph very orange – especially on blondes. The only tan that photographs well is a natural tan from the sun.
Be sure your outfits are wrinkle-free. If you are worried about little ones wrinkling or spitting up on their outfits in the car, arrive early and change them in the car.
Go with the flow. If you have little ones in your session, it’s really important we keep them happy. If they start to get fussy, I will redirect the session to refocus and get them happy again. Bribery always works pretty well with young ones, like a promised ice cream trip after the session. The worst thing you can do during your session is to scold your child or tell them to smile – as this rarely results in a real smile!
HOW WILL I KNOW IF I AM CHOSEN FOR THE TEAM?

WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES AS A SPOKESMODEL?
Your number one responsibility as a spokesmodel is to refer friends and family to Maddie Ray Photography for their senior portraits. This includes sharing on social media frequently, as well as excitedly participating in spokesmodel-related events.

DO MY PARENTS NEED TO BE INVOLVED?

I will reach out to your parents about the spokesmodel program if you are chosen as a part of the team to ensure that they are on board and aware of your responsibilities as a spokesmodel. What you decide to wear for your session is very important to the overall look in your images. Although something may look great in person, it doesn’t always mean it will photograph well. Please read over all of the below suggestions carefully and refer back to them as you are selecting your outfits.
Choose outfits that are earth tones, neutrals, or soft pastels. – These colors look the best in combination with my style of photography.
Wear solids or florals. – Stay away from text, stripes, or patterns; however, florals photograph beautifully as long as it isn’t a bright or bold print (remember, soft colors and neutrals photograph best!)!
Wear outfits that fit with a natural, outdoor environment. – Guys, leave your work khakis and stiff collared shirts at home. Stick with casual khakis, colored pants, or jeans and relaxed shirts. Girls, wear wedges, booties, boots, or sandals. Stilettos won’t fit in with the environment and will be very hard to get around in!
Wear a dress or maxi skirt. – Girls, dresses and flowy skirts photograph much more feminine and flattering than jeans or pants. Maxi dresses and maxi skirts photograph the best!
Coordinate outfits with everyone, but don’t match exactly. – Consider the group as a whole when choosing all of the outfits; however, don’t have everyone match exactly.
Stores I recommend for little ones: Zara is my very favorite for little boys and girls. They have so many great options! H&M is also a great option and sometimes you can find some great neutral finds on Amazon!
Below are some outfit examples perfect for mamas! These can be found at Morning Lavender, Vici Dolls, Red Dress Boutique, Lulu's, Baltic Born, and Free People. I can always send over specific links for amazing dresses!
